Our process
Acknowledge within [5 business days]
Assign to an editor (not involved where possible)
Investigate (review notes, sources, and relevant materials)
Decide & respond in writing with reasons and actions
Timeframe
We aim to conclude most complaints within [21 days].
Possible outcomes
Correction/clarification/update note
Credit/attribution changes
Adding disclosure (sponsorship/conflict/AI)
Removal or retraction (rare, when necessary)
Explanation for no change (with reasons)
Escalation (independent oversight)
We are pursuing recognised independent oversight in line with UK and international best practice ([choose: IPSO / IMPRESS]).
When our membership is active, complainants who remain dissatisfied may escalate to the independent regulator following our final response.
